About Us

African Solidarity (UK) is a nonprofit organization founded by members of the Cameroonian community living in the United Kingdom. Our purpose is simple but profound — to unite our community in compassion, mutual aid, and dignity when one of us passes away. Through collective support, African Solidarity ensures that the remains of our loved ones are repatriated to Cameroon, honoring an essential moral and cultural duty in Bantu civilization.

When death strikes, the pain is shared by the entire community. In the past, each tragedy prompted spontaneous fund-raising efforts; generous but unstructured. African Solidarity was created to give this generosity a lasting framework — to organize solidarity, strengthen transparency, and make assistance faster and fairer for every Cameroonian family in need.

Our Mission

Our mission is to organize and sustain a unified solidarity movement within the Cameroonian community in the UK and across the diaspora. We aim to build a reliable network of members who contribute modest amounts to help repatriate the remains of fellow members to Cameroon, preserving dignity and cultural identity.

Our Vision

We envision a community of at least 10 000 members, united by shared responsibility and empathy. With each loss, together we can raise up to £10 000, ensuring that no family faces the emotional and financial burden of repatriation alone. This large membership base allows individual contributions to remain small — around £2 per adult and £0.20 per child — while the impact remains immense.

Our Values

  • Dignity — We believe every person deserves a respectful final journey home.
  • Solidarity — We act as one family, sharing both joys and burdens.
  • Transparency — Every contribution is traceable and publicly visible in real time.
  • Trust — Members can rely on a fair, accountable system managed with integrity.

How We Operate

African Solidarity uses a secure online contribution system where payments are made via debit/credit card or PayPal into a Wise Bank account. Funds are released directly to the Next of Kin once the target amount is reached. Members can watch contributions live as they come in — a visible expression of unity and accountability.

Beyond financial aid, African Solidarity is also a network of belonging — a family that supports each other through life’s most challenging times.
