Who We Are

Our Founder's intent

African Solidarity (African Solidarity UK) was founded by members of the Cameroonian community in the United Kingdom with a profound purpose: to ensure that the remains of our loved ones are repatriated to Cameroon with dignity.

In Bantu civilisation, returning the remains of our loved ones to their homeland is not only a tradition but also a moral duty. Recent years have brought many unexpected deaths within our community in the UK, affecting people of all ages. Each time, we have witnessed remarkable but spontaneous acts of solidarity. While generous, these efforts often lacked sustained organization and coordination.

Our Goal and Mission

African Solidarity exists to organise and strengthen this solidarity movement. Our mission is to provide a structured, transparent, and reliable way for the Cameroonian community to come together whenever tragedy strikes. We aim to ensure that no family has to face the burden of repatriation alone, and that every member of our community can count on support in their time of need.

Each member contributes a modest amount, enabling the collective to raise the necessary funds for repatriation. Our vision is to build a global database of 10,000 members, so that with each loss, we can contribute up to £10,000. This level of membership would reduce individual contributions to as little as £2 per adult and £0.20 per child.

Transparency

Transparency is at the heart of our operations. Contributions are made through a secure collection platform (debit card, credit card, or PayPal) linked to a Wise Bank account. Funds are immediately released to the next of kin once the target is reached. Members can follow the fundraising process in real time, ensuring complete visibility and accountability.

African Solidarity pledges to do everything necessary to mobilize the Cameroonian community in the UK and abroad, with the unifying goal of returning the remains of any member who passes away to their homeland.
